Books to read when travelling around Australia
A few weeks ago I did a post about different books to read when you’re travelling around a foreign country. Then I realised that more often than not, we end up visiting other cities here in Australia. Thanks to family who spread out, friends and even theatre encouraging us to fly for a weekend, I find with cheap flights I can pop to Melbourne two or three times a year. So even though you might have visited Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide many times, these books might give you another insight into your chosen destination.
Adelaide - Me & Rory MacBeath by Richard Beasley
Alice Springs - A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute
Brisbane - Last Drinks by Andrew McGahan
Broome - Tears of the Moon by Di Morrissey
Darwin - We of the Never Never by Jeannie Gunn
Hobart - Past the Shallows by Favel Parrett
Melbourne - Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion
Perth - Cloudstreet by Tim Winton
Sydney - Harp in the South by Ruth Park
